rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns, while
also leading the Bills with 59 receptions.
If he is unavailable, quarterback Tyrod Taylor
must fi nd other weapons to rely upon against
the Jaguars defense. One of those weapons is his
own feet, as he is the second-leading rusher for
the Bills with 427 yards on the ground and four
rushing touchdowns.
Wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin has collected 217
yards on 16 catches since a midseason trade from
the Carolina Panthers. Tight end Charles Clay is
another key target for Taylor, posting 558 yards
on 49 catches.
Defensively, linebacker Preston Brown fi nished the
2017 season with 144 tackles, the most in the
NFL in the regular season. Defensive ends Jerry
Hughes and Shaq Lawson each have 4.0 sacks to
lead the pass rush for the Bills. On the back end,
safeties Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde each have
fi ve interceptions to pace the Bills secondary.
FINAL THOUGHT
Though the Jaguars did put the NFL on notice
with their 16-game regular season in 2017, the
10-6 result simply does not matter anymore.
It is simple now: a win moves the Jaguars on to
Pittsburgh in the AFC Divisional Playoff round, and
leaves them two wins away from representing the
AFC in Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis.
A loss sends them to the fi shing hole or golf
course for the offseason.
Over 69,000 are lucky enough to be in attendance
for today’s game, and millions will be watching
around the world as the Jaguars look to write a
new chapter in their history.
Enjoy today’s game, and remember you could be
telling the next generation of Jaguars fans about
what you see today 18 years from today.
