Forever Forest
By Colin Campbell, 11
My mind,
Unlike many others.
It is not my happy place
Nor my darkest shadow.
It is the forever forest
With the redwood trees
And heavy fog.
Nothing lives here.
Nothing is allowed to live here,
With me.
There is no direction
For the northern star is covered,
And Sparrow’s compass, gone.
Thoughts do not mingle here,
For the fog disperses them.
Leaving me blank.
To stand still
Or to walk infinitely.
Would lead me to now.
Because the Forever Forest
Shows no mercy.
