Cheryl Pell, MIPA director, said the shot was in part to celebrate the final workshop with Betsy Pollard Rau as director. Rau, in front with the hat, was the workshop director for 19 years. A former high school student of hers from the late ’80s, Chad Sanders, is her replacement, and is standing next to Rau in the photo. Sanders has been the assistant workshop director for the past 10 years and teaches journalism at Everett HS in Lansing.
