When it comes to purchasing lures, you may be able to find
some pretty inexpensive options, as well as top-of-the-line
artificial bait with extra perks. For example, some lures are
made with noise and vibration mechanisms, which stimu-
late natural activity and pulsate through the water, attracting
hungry fish who may otherwise turn away from a “dead”
lure. These high-tech lures are fun to use and great for
bringing out those surface feeders and overall more active
fish.
We also have to use common sense when it comes to
choosing between live bait or a lure, especially when con-

sidering usage. For example, fish in murky, dark, and colder
waters aren’t going to be very active, so something with a
strong odor that will really get their attention is best. This is
when you want live bait or strong smelling bait, such as a
chicken liver or blood-soaked bread. The clearer it is, and
the warmer it gets, the more active the fish that inhabit the
water will be. This is when lures bring out the best in every
angler. These guys are able to jig and crank with a fast
presentation that makes the cast fun and inviting to the
hungry fish. The surface fish are going to be moving at a
rapid pace, and looking for food in the process. A shiny lure
with jolting movements is just the ticket to reel them in.
