The noteworthy adventure play-

in 1963 when Duke Energy
dammed the Catawba River to cre-
ate “Carolina’s Inland Sea” and
since, the landscape has created
the perfect recreational destination.
The quaint towns of Cornelius,
Davidson and Huntersville, satu-
rated with history and culture, sur-
round the banks of the lake. Local
history is always appreciated, so let
curiosity lead to the many local at-
tractions and annual events. His-
toric Latta Plantation and Rural Hill
sites date to the 1800’s and con-
tinue to be preserved and enjoyed
by visitors today. Nearby, Carolina
Raptor Center is a family favorite-
stop to trek through the raptor trail.
A scenic bike ride through water-
front parks in Cornelius are popular,
in addition to Ramsey Creek’s new
public swimming beach.

ski rental options, or rent the largest private yacht charter in the
Charlotte region. My Aloha Paddle & Surf specializes in stand-
up paddle boarding, or take a ride on the new and unique Cy-
cleboat! Afterwards, rehydrate at one of Lake Norman’s craft
breweries and refuel at a waterfront restaurant.
Just a few minutes away is the eye-catching town of Davidson,
home to Davidson College. Main street Davidson, referred by
