ADVANTAGE ONLINE | JUNE 2026 5
Having now spent my first few weeks as Head of FIBA, I wanted to take the opportunity to say a sincere thank you to everyone who has taken the time to welcome me into the role.
Whether through meetings, calls, events or simply sharing thoughts and ideas, I have been genuinely encouraged by the passion that exists across our membership. It is clear that FIBA is supported by an outstanding community of brokers, lenders and partners who are committed to helping the specialist finance sector continue to grow and evolve.
My first few weeks have been spent listening, learning, and meeting as many members, lenders, and partners as possible. One thing has become immediately clear: there is enormous passion for the specialist finance sector and a genuine desire to work together to help it thrive
As I look ahead, my priorities are centred around three key objectives.
1. Strengthening engagement across our community
FIBA sits in a unique position within the specialist finance market. I want to ensure that brokers, lenders and partners feel connected, heard, and supported. This means increasing opportunities for collaboration, education, and networking, whilst ensuring that member feedback continues to shape our direction of travel.
2. Raising standards through education and professional development
The specialist finance sector continues to grow in both size and complexity. With that comes an opportunity to help advisers build confidence, knowledge and expertise. Working alongside our Education Committee and industry partners, I want FIBA to be recognised as a leading source of specialist property finance education, helping advisers identify opportunities, improve outcomes for clients, and develop successful specialist propositions.
3. Demonstrating and enhancing member value
Membership must deliver tangible benefits. My focus is on ensuring that every broker, lender and partner can clearly see the value of their relationship with FIBA. This includes improving communication, developing meaningful market insight, strengthening our lender relationships and continuing to evolve initiatives such as the Specialist Property Finance Panel to create opportunities for all stakeholders.
Ultimately, my ambition is simple: to help FIBA become the first place that advisers, lenders and partners turn to when they need support, insight, education or connections within the specialist finance market.
The enthusiasm and support I have received so far gives me great confidence that we can achieve this together.
I look forward to meeting many more of you over the coming months and hearing your views on how we can continue to strengthen and grow the FIBA community.
Thank you once again for the warm welcome. The journey has only just begun, and I am excited about what lies ahead.
