Helping landlords to upgrade property through Refurb-to-Let

With a new Labour Government at the helm , the prospect of landlords facing minimum Energy Performance Certificate ( EPC ) standards for rental property is once again on the agenda .
The Labour Manifesto included a pledge to introduce new EPC standards for the sector by 2030 . Under the Conservative Government , it had been proposed new tenancies should have a minimum EPC of
C by 2025 , with all tenancies reaching that level by 2028 .
That was scrapped by Rishi Sunak in 2023 , but it was always expected that a new Government would bring fresh proposals to the table as the country heads ever closer to its 2050 Net Zero Target .
We await full details of Labour ’ s proposals , but we would urge landlords to get ahead of its plans and start to look at the readiness of their properties .
