HSBC ’ s Commercial Broker Proposition accelerates its growth ambitions

Since the formal launch of their Commercial Broker proposition in 2023 following a successful pilot , HSBC has continued to experience fast growth , with an increase in the volume of lending to businesses across the UK .
This growth has continued in the first half of 2024 , with over £ 100m of new lending successfully delivered from specialist property finance introducers .
The ongoing partnership with FIBA has been an integral part of this and has enabled HSBC to establish several important relationships as we look to broaden our introducer network .
We are delighted with the fast growth that our broker proposition is exhibiting . We have been able to support businesses across the UK from a diverse range of sectors and with varied funding needs .
Additionally , as HSBC continues to expand further into the broker market , we are investing heavily in our people . In the last couple of months , we have recently recruited a team of Business Development Directors to drive the next steps of our Commercial Broker Proposition . This Business Development team will provide national coverage and will complement our existing relationship teams , in order to accelerate our continued growth .
The appointment of Business Development Directors is the next step in the roll out of our Commercial Broker proposition , enhancing the relationship we hold with introducers , as
well as establishing new mutually beneficial partnerships across the sector .
Despite transitioning to a more formal proposition , the ongoing feedback HSBC receives from the broker community has been key to the development of our proposition and success to date . Building on these solid foundations is crucial to our future success . Therefore , the newly established Business Development team is dedicated to deepening existing relationships as well as working with new firms in order to further expand their footprint in this market and in supporting their clients needs and aspirations .
As we move into the second half of 2024 , the team remains committed to redefining their role in the Commercial Brokerage sector . Since piloting the Commercial Broker Proposition in 2022 , HSBC has delivered close to £ 250m of new funding to the SME market and continue to experience growth in this important route to market .
