did reveal some very interesting topics – as was verified from the reaction in the room. Hands shot up to ask questions - and to be clear, these are hands of head's of department in some of the largest car manufacturers in the world. Throughout my studies and all my articles, I have had to do a lot of research and I can't think of any places where you can access this level of technical information that is so 'current' than in this conference.

Conference Structure...

I found the structure of the conference very clever. The organisers worked hard to ensure that you 'connected' with everyone and left knowing exactly who everyone was and what their job was. As well as dropping off your business cards, there was also a 'faceboard'; where people had a picture taken with their business card underneath. This was really fantastic as it not only gave you access to some aerodynamic specialists from many backgrounds, but when it came to the interactive sessions later on in the day, you usually had an idea of who you were talking to as you recognised them from the faceboard.

Also vastly beneficial was the 'meet and greet' activity. Usually in these sessios you are subjected to an awkward half hour of silence, but not at Internect. In our welcome pack we were given a red or green dot which dictated which line we were in.

Everyone then lined up so that there were two lines of people facing each other. You had to introduce yourself, exchange business cards and talk about aerodynamics for a few minutes before the bell went, which saw you shuffle along one space and start it all over

again with the next person.

This was another great way to meet people and by making people interact at the very first stages of the conference meant that the dynamics of the entire group for the rest of the conference was friendly and supportive as everyone already kind of knew each other - however briefly.
