Provincial Programs B . C. Housing: Shelter Aid for Elderly Renters The Shelter Aid for Elderly Renters (SAFER) program helps make rent affordable for B.C. seniors with low to moderate incomes. SAFER provides monthly cash payments to subsidize rent for eligible B.C. residents who are age 60 or over and who pay rent for their homes. For more information call 1-800-257-7756.
