Old Age Security Allowance continued You qualify for the Allowance if you meet all of the following conditions:
� You are aged 60 to 64( includes the month of your 65th birthday)
� Your spouse or common-law partner receives an OAS pension and is eligible for the GIS
� You are a Canadian citizen or a legal resident
� You live in Canada and have lived in Canada for at least 10 years since the age of 18
� Your annual income( or in a case of a couple, your combined income) is less than the maximum annual
income( Table on page 13)

Old Age Security Allowance for the Survivor

The Allowance for the Survivor is a benefit available to people whose spouse or common-law partner is deceased, and who have little or no income. You qualify for the Allowance for the Survivor if you meet all the following conditions:
� You are aged 60 to 64( includes the month of your 65th birthday)
� You are a Canadian citizen or a legal resident
� You live in Canada and have lived in Canada for at least 10 years since the age of 18
� Your spouse or common-law partner has died and you have not remarried or entered into a common-law relationship
� Your annual income is less than the maximum annual income( Table on page 13)
The Allowance for the Survivor stops the month after your 65th birthday, when you may become eligible for the OAS pension and possibly the GIS.
