Explore nature through a variety of
experiences and activities on this day of
discovery for adults. Enjoy just one class
or stay all day. Optional box lunches are
available to pre-order.
Box Lunch
With 174 species of birds found in Oakdale
Nature Preserve, this is a great place to
learn the basic skills that will help you find
and identify birds. Class will start outdoors
with a walk in the preserve followed by an
indoor review session. Whooooo knows
what we might discover! Class fee includes
a book for beginning birders, a check list of
Minnesota birds and additional reference
materials. Bring a pair of binoculars if you
can and dress for the weather. Jill Sadler

Enjoy a box lunch during your Park-n-Play experience. Each
lunch includes a freshly made sandwich, choice of side, mini
dessert, and bottled water. Sandwich choices: roast beef, baked
ham, roast turkey, or grilled mushroom. Side choices: salad of
the day, superfood slaw, or fresh fruit. Lunch will be available
beginning at 10:30 am.

Get Close to Nature in a Kayak
Paddle around Silver Lake on kayaks to look
for turtles, birds, and muskrats and discover
why this lake is a gem within the city. You
will learn how to paddle correctly, get in
and out of a kayak easily and safely before
we head out on the lake for an easy group
paddle. No experience necessary. Wear
shoes that can get wet and dress in layers

Natural Dyeing
After an overview of the natural dyeing
process, we'll learn the specifics of eco-
printing, a process of extracting plant or
flower pigment directly onto a surface.
Discover which plant species yield lasting
color while creating a one-of-a-kind organic
cotton bandana. Due to processing time,
you will need to pick up your finished
bandana later in the afternoon or on
