COMPUTING COURSES Welcome to Sir John Deane’s How to enrol • By telephone: You can book your place on any of the courses by phoning the Adult Education Team on 01606 810025 and making a credit or debit card booking. • In person: The office is open from 9.00am to 3.00pm from Monday to Friday. Please note that we will be closed on Fridays during College holidays. Please bring along a card reader or the means to transfer images from the camera, a notepad and a pen to take notes. The Digital Camera courses below are for students who already have basic computing skills. Enrolments are welcome from 19th March 2018 YOU CAN ENROL: Excel Spreadsheets for Home and Business – ADVANCED either in person, by telephone or post, using cash, cheque, credit or debit card (excluding American Express and Diners Club) Course fees for long courses: (15 weeks or more) can be paid in full at the time of enrolment or as 50% at enrolment and 50% via a post-dated cheque. Fee remission: • If you are in receipt of ESA you may be entitled to full or partial remission of tuition fees on some courses (evidence is required at enrolment). Further details can be obtained from the Adult Education Department. • There is no fee remission on dance, exercise, music, singing or Saturday classes. There is no remission for examination fees. Refunds: If we have to cancel a course because of low enrolment, a full refund will be given to students who have pre-enrolled. Refunds cannot be given if you withdraw within 2 weeks of the start of any course or once the course has started. A non-refundable administration fee of £20 per course is incorporated into all fees and is charged to all part-time SirJohnDeanes www.sjd.ac.uk students, including those who qualify for full remission of tuition fees. ART AND CRAFT COURSES NO SMOKING The entire College is a no-smoking area and therefore smoking is forbidden anywhere on the College site, including the Leisure Centre. Students and tutors who need to smoke should do so off the College site without causing a nuisance to members of the public or to nearby residents and businesses. We can only enrol you on our courses if you are aged over 19.
