Publishing Your Movie When you’re ready to share your movie with others, publish it from Flash. For some projects, that means posting an HTML file and a SWF file to the Web so your audi- ence can view it in a desktop browser. For other projects, it may involve publishing an application file for your audience to download and view on a mobile device. Flash provides options to publish for a variety of platforms. You’ll learn more about publishing options in Lesson 10 “Publishing Flash Documents.” For this lesson, you’ll create an HTML file and a SWF file. The SWF file is your final Flash movie, and the HTML file tells the Web browser how to display the SWF file. You’ll need to upload both files to the same folder on your Web server. Always test your movie after uploading it to be certain that it’s working properly. 1 Choose File > Publish Settings, or click the Publish Settings button in the Profile section of the Properties Inspector. The Publish Settings dialog box appears. The output formats appear on the left, and their corresponding settings appear on the right. 44 Lesson 1 Getting Acquainted
