using Auto-Save The Auto-Save feature, when enabled, saves your Flash file automatically at regular intervals that you set. You can set your Flash file to Auto-Save anywhere between 1 minute and 1440 minutes (24 hours). 1 At the bottom of the Properties inspector, click the Edit button next to the Stage size (the wrench icon). The Document Settings dialog box appears. 2 Check the Auto-Save option and enter a desired interval for each save. 3 Click OK. Rest easy. Your old Flash file will be replaced by the open document at the predetermined intervals. An open document that has unsaved changes is indicated by an asterisk at the end of its filename at the top of the document window. using Auto-Recovery for a backup The Auto-Recovery feature works a little differently from the Auto-Save feature. The Auto-Recovery feature is a preference set for the Flash application for all docu- ments, while the Auto-Save feature is specific for each document. The Auto-Recovery feature saves a backup file, so that in case of a crash, you have an alternate file to return to. 1 Choose Flash > Preferences (Mac) or Edit > Preferences (Windows).
