Adaptations: The Central California Adaptive Sports Center Newsletter 3 | Page 2

The Central California Adaptive Sports Center( CCASC) is a 501( c)( 3) nonprofit offering quality outdoor adventure recreation opportunities to children and adults with disabilities, including our veterans. Winter programs include snow skiing, snowshoeing, and mountaineering in and around China Peak Mountain Resort. Summer programs include kayaking, fly-fishing, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, and camping in the Shaver Lake, California area.
Message from the Director:
CCASC was born in 2013 with the goal of providing adaptive mountain sports opportunities to residents of Central California, a historically underserved area. We began with an all volunteer staff and borrowed equipment. Now, thanks to the generous support of the community, we operate out of a donated 1,440 square foot facility, maintain a fleet of state-of-the-art winter and summer adaptive sports equipment, and have a staff of dedicated instructors. We have offered more than 500 lessons to persons with disabilities, serving individuals from the Central Valley, other parts of California, and visitors from out-of-state. We are particularly proud to have received funding from the Department of Veteran’ s Affairs Adaptive Sports Program to provide activities to veterans with disabilities at no charge.
Please spread the word and come visit us at China Peak Mountain Resort.
