Staff Spotlight

Myranda Logan began working with Central California Adaptive Sports Center as a volunteer in the summer of 2020 and then joined the winter paid staff later that year . Her current position with CCASC is Program Coordinator . She is a recent graduate of California State University , Fresno and obtained her bachelor ’ s degree in Recreation Administration with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation . Ms . Logan served her internship at the United States Adaptive Recreation Center , in Big Bear , CA and is a certified PSIA Level 1 Adaptive Snowsports Instructor . As a Recreational Therapist , her goal is to educate others about the importance of adaptive sports . Myranda states , “ My ultimate goal is to be able to provide purposeful adaptive programs that will enhance the quality of life of individuals with disabilities . My main focus will be working with veterans and active military members to help provide much needed services .”
Myranda is always looking for opportunities to expand her knowledge , especially in the outdoors , and is very popular among our participants when it comes to watersports like kayaking and paddle boarding . On her off time , she enjoys seeking new and exciting adventures with her canine friend .
Secret talent : makeup artist
Alexis Castro is interested in adaptive sports because it gives her an opportunity to instruct and have fun with the participants while helping to create smiles . Seeing their improvement and confidence grow as they enjoy different activities is especially rewarding .
Her outdoor interests include fishing , kayaking , and hiking . She especially enjoys hiking in the national parks including Yosemite , and Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park .
Starting at the age of 8 , she played softball until her senior year of high school . Once she began her second year at Fresno State , she began playing rugby for the Fresno State Women ' s Rugby team .
She enjoys attending softball tournaments , rugby games and also plays tennis for fun .
Alexis is currently enrolled in her last year at Fresno State and will receive her Bachelor ’ s degree in Recreational Therapy .
This is her first year as an instructor with the Central California Adaptive Sports Center and she has loved every minute of it . Alexis is also the Volunteer Coordinator .
Her hobbies outside of work include painting , reading , bodybuilding , hiking , listening to music , and playing the guitar . Secret talent : she is ambidextrous , meaning she can write with both her left and right hand .
