As per the latest ATAGI statement , all adults aged ≥18 years are eligible for a 2023 COVID-19 vaccine booster dose , if their last vaccine dose or confirmed infection was ≥6 months ago , preferably with a bivalent mRNA vaccine . Children and adolescents aged 5 – 17 years who are at an increased risk of severe COVID-19 are also eligible . 3

Most frequent adverse reactions with a COMIRNATY booster dose include injection site pain , fatigue , headache , myalgia , chills and arthralgia . There have been very rare reports of myocarditis and pericarditis . 2 Refer to the COMIRNATY Approved Product Information for a full list of adverse reactions and management recommendations .
This vaccine is subject to additional monitoring in Australia . This will allow quick identification of new safety information . Healthcare professionals are asked to report any suspected adverse events at : www . tga . gov . au / reporting-problems .
