Wee Little Arts
Teaching the creative process to young artists Instructor: Marg Bucher Ages: 4 – 5
Wee Little Arts is a preschool visual arts program dedicated to engaging and empowering children by helping them to discover the creative process. It is a curriculum based on four sessions, each session devoted to one of the following subjects; Elements of Art, Drawing, Painting and Three Dimensions. The same subjects are taught each year, with different projects so a student is not repeating projects,. Learning is reinforced and added on to with each class. Fundamental elements are introduced and students apply these elements to their work. A variety of media is used to inspire experimentation, and both traditional and contemporary artists’ work is shown to expose the students to old and new ideas.

Let’ s Make Music Together
A rich music experience to share together Instructor: Carol Smoot Ages: birth – 4 ½
Children participate at their own level in classes of mixed ages by singing, moving, chanting, listening and exploring child-safe percussion instruments with a parent or caregiver who models musical behavior. Regardless of your own musical ability, find fun in this playfully creative environment supporting your child’ s primary music development.
Please include child’ s birthdate and the name of the participating adult when registering.

Music Together: Generations
Share the joy of music making with seniors in the Weinstein JCC community by participating in a Music Together Intergenerational Class. This is a“ Mixed Ages” class( birth to 4 years). This class will help create a connection among generations, engage minds and bodies and may stir up some cherished musical memories too. Each 45-minute class includes songs, chants, dancing, and instrument play. The seniors are invited to sit in a circle around the Let’ s Make Music Together families and participate in any way they are able to join in on the fun and music making.

Kosher Honey

Growing Gardeners
Learn how to garden and cook Instructor: Amanda Montgomery Ages: 3- 5
Join Garden Education Specialist, Amanda Montgomery, in the Weinstein JCC Edible Schoolyard. Children will learn about what plants need in order to grow, basic gardening tasks and how to use one’ s senses in the garden. Children will be able to pick, taste and cook with items from the garden.
