Jewish Living
The Weinstein JCC welcomes everyone to share in the richness of the Jewish heritage. Come and bake challah, dance to Israeli music,
enjoy the restfulness of Shabbat, learn about the Jewish holidays and so much more. Programs are offered for people of all ages and are
rooted in Jewish values and traditions.
For information on Jewish Living programming, contact Erin Mahone, Cultural Arts and Jewish Education Director at 545-8644 or

Hillel at VCU
Hillel at VCU’s mission
is to enrich the lives of
at VCU
Jewish undergraduate
students so that they
may enrich the Jewish community
and the world. Hillel helps to ensure
that Jewish life can thrive at VCU by
helping to facilitate meaningful Jewish
experiences for all students such as
informal teaching, and connecting
students to each other. Some of the
spring activities include Torah learning
classes, Israel week, social action
projects, Purim party, a Passover Seder
and social events.
HILLEL
As a supplement to on-campus
programs, Hillel at VCU also sends
students twice per year on a free trip
to Israel with Taglit-Birthright: Israel
Hillel for 10 days! This year’s registration
begins on September 8th and students
can sign up at freeisraeltrip.org.

Yom Hashoah Event: Portrait
of Wally
This documentary traces the history of Egon
Schiele’s iconic painting from Shiele’s gesture
of affection toward his young lover, to the theft
of the painting from Lea Bondi, a Jewish art
dealer fleeing Vienna for her life, to the post-war
confusion and subterfuge that evoke The Third
Man, to the surprise resurfacing of “Wally” on
loan to the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan
in 1997. Presented in Partnership with the
Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Panel discussion to
follow. Tickets available at weinsteinjcc.org.
