AQUATICS
Private Swim Lessons
Ages: 3 + Available as an alternative to group lessons for those who wish to work one-on-one with an instructor. Lessons can be customized to meet your swimming needs. All private / semi-private sessions are half-hour. Parent & Child
Ages: 10 – 23 months – Level A An introductory water orientation class designed to teach parents how to work safely and effectively with their young child. Emphasis will be on water adjustment through games and songs. We will explore floating, kicking, blowing bubbles, basic hand movements, water submersion and water safety. A parent must be in the water for this class.
Ages: 24 – 36 months – Level B This class is designed for the older toddler or any child who has been authorized to attend by an instructor. Your child will work to independently kick, float, glide and use arm actions on his / her front and back. Water entry and exit, underwater exploration, drafting and water safety will be introduced. A parent must be in the water for this class. All skills taught are parallel to Level A, however slightly more advanced. Code: Level A 14359 Sundays, 9:30 – 10:00 a. m. Ducks
Ages: 3 – 5 This class is designed to be the child’ s first water experience without a parent. Skills to be taught include: enter and exit water safely, blowing bubbles, submerging the mouth, nose and eyes, front and back glide, front and back float, front and back kick, front and back arm movement, recover to vertical position, treading in chest deep water, jumping into the water and water safety skills. Ages: 3 – 5 After successful completion of the Ducks class, your child will advance to this class. Skills to be taught include: breath holding, bobbing, front and back float, front and back kick, front and back glide, front and back arm movements, picking up submerged objects, jumping into the water, recover to vertical position, treading water and water safety skills. Pre-Levels
Ages: 3- 5 After successful completion of the Preschool Advanced class, your child can advance to this transitional class. The skills to be taught will mimic those of Levels 1 and 2. This class is designed for children that are skillful swimmers but not age appropriate for the Levels 1-6 swim classes.
