(9K) High Rim Trail From Beaver Lk. Rd. to Oyama
Lake. The High Rim Trail is a 50 km wilderness trail for the
experienced hiker only. Access from Hwy. 97 is east on
Beaver Lk Rd. 12.9 km or east on Oyama Rd & follow signs
to Oyama Lk, watch for trail marker. Note: Road to Oyama
Lake very rough, requires 4 wheel drive vehicle. Can be
hiked in sections.

Oyama Lake
Walking along the many trails in our sprawling municipality is a wonderful experience. Walkers
and hikers are cautioned to be prepared for wildlife encounters at all times, and to ensure they
have suitable clothing and supplies.
There are miriad opportunities to swim and launch
kayaks or canoes on our lakes - too numerous to mark
on this guide. Please use caution. There are no life
guards on duty. Our safe harbour on Okanagan Lake
(see 19, E2) is currently being upgraded but is still fully
operational. (No swimming inside the safe harbour).
We ask that visitors take only photographs, and leave only footprints! Many of the trails, walkways
and roads border on private property. Walkers and hikers are asked to respect boundaries at all
times, keep animals leashed, use doggie bags and use own container for garbage disposal.

Lake Country Museum
The Lake Country Museum was established in 1985 and is located in the
former Okanagan Centre School. Through its exhibits and archives, the museum
tells the story of the District of Lake Country and its four wards of Winfield,
Oyama, Carr’s Landing, and Okanagan Centre. The museum’s artefacts include
the histories of the orchard, wine, and ranching industries, turn of the century
living, and collections from the early Japanese community.
