RECREATION Active Fitness for Seniors 50+ Balance, coordination and range of motion will be the main focus of this program designed for seniors looking for a moderate workout that is also great for beginners. Each session is led by a certified fitness instructor specialized in training for seniors (3rd Age). You will be guided through a complete workout using a circuit group design, accessing the cardio equipment and weights in the school Weight Room. Cycling for Women with A great opportunity to learn all about your bike and how to get more from your ride as you learn the basics of bikes, riding equipment, adjustments and much more. A different focus each week, bringing it all together on a ride. This course will give you the confidence to get started or discover new adventures with your bike. A number of categories of bikes will be covered: Road, Mountain, Commuter and Comfort. n 1st Night - Getting the Basics If you are not sure if this fitness program is right for you, feel welcome to speak to the instructor about any questions or concerns you may have, contact information is available at 766-1485. How to change a tire & tube, repair a chain, tighten components and keep your bike in good running order. Basic on &off-road riding techniques will be covered: how to climb & descend, use your gearing effectively, braking, road etiquette, cadence, riding in a group, etc. We’ll also have a short discussion regarding nutrition and hydration. n 3rd Night - Bring your Bike to Class For Boys & Girls from 3 years old to Grade 7 Bring your bike to class and have it checked over by a Cyclepath Bicycle Service Technician. One more opportunity to review maintenance and repair tips, and receive additional instruction on riding techniques. Offered through our continued partnership with Kelowna Gymnastix and their satellite program here in Lake Country. Coach Bruce Elwood and his team of fully certified coaches will direct this dynamic recreational gymnastics program focused on fun and skill, building the fundamentals of gymnastics.
