Growing up on a small farm in the Cariboo Angela knew at a very young age she wanted to be an artist. After graduating high school she immediately moved to Vancouver where she attended the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design and received a Bachelor of Design and then went on to the University of Victoria where she received her teaching degree. Angela works with, and has shown artworks done in a variety of mediums; however, her love affair with the encaustic medium has taken over her art-making endeavours the last several years. The medium lends itself to working in such a variety of ways that her explorations with it have taken her work in very new and fascinating directions. She adds a variety of objects and other mediums into her abstract encaustic pieces and they have recently become very sculptural. Visit AngelaHansenArt.com to see her work.
