Ages: 9 – 12
Ballet technique and terminology are
introduced in this Weinstein JCC School of
Dance beginner’s class. Students will begin to
work at the barre and learn ballet positions
and creative movement through music and
stories. Leotard, tights and ballet slippers
required for this year-round class. The Dance
Recital will be Sunday, May 3, 2020. *$50
Recital fee not included and will be charged in
late January. In this class, your child will learn new ballet
techniques and terminology. Your child will
complete barre and floor work, choreography
and more advanced combinations. Lessons
will build with complexity and end with a
recital where you can see how your child’s
skills have developed. Black short-sleeved
leotards and ballet slippers required. Children
will participate in a Dance Recital on Sunday,
May 3, 2020. *$50 recital fee not included and
will be charged in late January.
This class under the new direction of
Richmond Urban Dance is a class designed for
students that want to learn the fundamentals
of hip hop dance. It focuses on basic
technique and skills, as well as learning
choreography. Each class builds on the one
prior. This class is for boys and girls. The
Dance Recital will be Sunday, May 3, 2020.

Intro to Ballet I

Ages: 3 – 4
Intro to Ballet I classes combine stories and
music in a child-friendly setting which helps
students develop body and spatial awareness,
rhythm, flexibility, balance, coordination and
confidence. Students will be introduced to
beginning ballet technique and learn basic
ballet terminology. For female students a
leotard, tights and pink ballet slippers are
required, and hair should be pulled off of the
face in a ponytail or bun. For male students a
white t-shirt, black shorts or pants, and black
ballet shoes are required for this year-round
class. The Dance Recital will be Sunday, May 3,
2020. *$50 Recital fee not included and will be
charged in late January.
