Active Adults The 5400 Club Thursdays On The Move This group, consisting of retired and semi- retired men and women ages 60+, meets each Monday throughout the year. Each meeting features an outstanding guest speaker. Membership in The 5400 Club is open to all male/female Weinstein JCC members. This group is a self-governing organization with its own board, assisted by a Weinstein JCC staff advisor. Feel free to come as our guest and bring your friends! This program will offer a fun-filled day trip once a month to area museums, restaurants, sight seeing, etc. Destination suggestions from participants are appreciated! Transportation from the Weinstein JCC will be provided. Cost and length of trip will depend on destination. Mondays 12:00 – 12:30 pm: Lunch (Bring your own and join us, dessert provided.) 12:30 – 1:30 pm: Program Cost: $30 per year plus 50 cents for each program attended. Membership is open to all JCC Members The Better Together Project Partnership with Weinstein JCC and Rudlin Torah Academy This special program brings together Older Adults from the Jewish Community and 7th and 8th grade students from Rudlin Torah Academy. Each month the group will meet for an innovative intergenerational program including learning, a creative project and a light snack. The goal is to share and build relationships between the generations. Performing arm of our Active Adult Programs Practices are always underway for performances at nursing homes, organizations, hospitals, churches, synagogues and civic functions. The Grand Tones are now over 50 years running under the direction of volunteer Betsy Cockriel and are joined by pianist Frances Gordon. If you love music but are not a singer, you are still welcome to join us just to listen, have lunch and socialize! RSVP to Shari Menlowe-Barck at 545-8611 Annual Weinstein JCC/ Hadassah Game Day Ages: 18+ Join us for an exciting fun-filled day of your favorite games. Just bring your friends, mahjong set, bridge cards or any other of your favorite games, and the Weinstein JCC will supply the rest. Tables open at 10:00 am, but you can begin playing any time after that. This program meets every Tuesday year round, and is for adult men and women. The weekly agenda features programs including entertainment, guest speakers, current events and intergenerational programs. Members enjoy celebrating many of the holidays and events, including a Chanukah party with the Weinstein JCC Preschool children and a Sweetheart Day luncheon. Cost includes morning and afternoon snacks, brunch, table rentals, door prizes and lots of socializing! Taught by a very talented artist and teacher with 25+ years of experience, Elizabeth will be using a variety of mediums to teach the beginner artist to enjoy and participate in new projects while showing the accomplished artist how to use new methods and broadening their approach to painting and drawing.
