This characteristic honeycomb pattern breakfast food has evolved to be one of the most consumed and exciting foods in our history. We will learn the history of this treat and how an inventor used his critical thinking skills to invent the waffle ice cream cone. Participate in STEM exploration like the unbreakable egg challenge, engineering a structurally sound chocolate bridge for the Easter Bunny to cross, and transforming a bouquet of while flowers to spring colors. Each lesson introduces terminology related to transportation and describes how each vehicle works. Students will have lots of fun building moving LEGO® creations including motorized models of a car, dragster, helicopter, and airplane. Our one-of-a-kind models incorporate gears, axles, motors and battery packs. Students will follow step-by-step plans to create their vehicle, then customize it to their own specifications and take a mini-figure for a ride! Instructor: Bricks 4 Kidz. Min/Max: 8/18. We’ll be doing just that and more using LEGO® Bricks and some ingenuity. At Spring Avenue Recreation Center STEAM 102 – Robotic Adventures At Main Street Recreation Center Age: 6-8 Students as young as six years old can start learning about robotics using the LEGO WeDo Robotics System. Participants will build and program their own robotic creations using Legos, motors, and sensors, and will program them using software created by the experts at MIT.
