Age: 12 & Up
Windy City Curling Club (WCCC) will teach you how to throw a stone,
sweep the ice, and basic strategy to get you started on your Olympic
run! Week one will consist of on and off ice instruction to cover game
basics and safety instructions. The following weeks are reserved for more
in-depth instruction and scrimmage games. Players from WCCC will be
on hand to lead games and provide game play strategy. No experience or

FENCING
Fencing Lessons

Age: 8 & Up
Learn the beginning skills and techniques of this unique sport without
fighting. Fencing is an excellent sport for children and adults. It combines
coordination of relaxed and fast moves, and critical thinking between
attack and defensive strategies. Beginner classes are held at Main Street
Recreation Center. Advanced classes are held at the Wheaton Park
District. Equipment is provided. Min/Max: 6/15. (ch)

Co-Ed Indoor Field Hockey
At Ackerman SFC
Grade: 1-8
This program focuses on building individual and team field hockey skills.
Instruction and practice drills emphasize stick handling, ball control,
positioning, offensive and defensive tactics, rules, and conditioning.
The clinics are run by qualified field hockey coaches with international,
national, and local playing/coaching experience. Beginners are welcome
at all age groups. Equipment: Participants are required to purchase a
reversible jersey ($20) for game play and to bring and wear their own shin
guards and mouthguard. Loaner sticks are available, but the purchase of a
field hockey stick and protective glove is recommended. Please ask your
instructor for tips on purchasing a stick. Min/Max: 10/40. (ch)
