Girls Indoor Field Hockey Cyclones Volleyball League

Grade: 1-8
Indoor field hockey is the hottest new sport for girls - give it a try! We
focus on building individual and team field hockey skills. Instruction
and practice drills emphasize stick handling, ball control, positioning,
offensive and defensive tactics, rules, and conditioning. The clinics
are run by extremely qualified field hockey coaches with international,
national, and local playing/coaching experience. Beginners are
welcome at all age groups. Min/Max: 10/40. (ch) Grade: 4-8
The area’s top club volleyball team, the Cyclones, presents a fun,
recreational league that is great for beginner and developing players.
Teams will be formed by the park district after players attend an
evaluation (date below). Practice and game schedules will be delivered
once teams have been finalized. Practice is once a week for an
hour, along with one game per week. The league will end with a
post-season tournament. Players receive professional training from
Cyclones’ coaches and parent volunteers. Email [email protected]

EQUIPMENT: All girls are required to purchase a reversible jersey ($19
one time only) for game play. Each player is required to bring and wear
their own shin guards and mouth guard. Loaner sticks are available but
purchase of field hockey stick and protective glove is recommended.
Please ask your instructor for tips on purchasing a stick.

Indoor field hockey is a hot sport in Glen Ellyn and around the world
and it is now being offered for boys grades 1-5! Give this unique
and fun niche sport a try! Boys are required to bring and wear their
own shin guards, mouth guard and gym shoes. Some loaner sticks
are available to use for class. Please ask your instructor for tips on
purchasing a stick as they vary by size and weight. Min/Max: 5/10. (ch) Age: 10-14
Quick, fast, and touches on the ball with state coaches Christine
Giunta Mayer and Dan Scott. These one hour sessions will focus on
everything your child needs to know about the game prior and during
their seasons. Min/Max: 5/20. (cs)
