garden classes. Kids will learn about the topic then assemble containers to

Ways of Water
At Churchill Park
Age: 5-12
Water and wetlands are super important, for us, for animals, and for
plants. Learn about wetland and creek life as we explore the wet areas
of the park. Please have your child dress in clothes that can get wet and
muddy, including pants (not shorts) and wear socks with old gym shoes (no

Make a Bee Box

Did you know there are over 400 types of bees that live in Illinois? Many
of them are disappearing due to habitat loss. Learn about some of our bees
as we walk in the prairie in search of different types. Then assemble a small
bee box to take home for your yard. Min/Max: 5/15. (rf)

Toad Adventure
At Ackerman Park
Age: 5-12 (ages 3 & 4 welcome if accompanied by a parent)
Chorus frogs, green frogs, bull frogs and American toads can be found
in the wetland areas of this park. Discover what makes these amphibians
unique animals, learn their distinct calls, and search for them along the wet
edges. Wear shoes/pants that can get muddy (no shorts or sandals please).
