Enjoy live music and food, join an eco-info session, visit with “green” organizations to learn about a variety of environmental initiatives. Stop and shop with local sustainable vendors. Go on a guided walk, purchase a rain barrel, let the kids wander through earthy activity stations, or rent a canoe or kayak to paddle around Lake Ellyn. This is your child’s chance to climb inside dump trucks, fire trucks, police cars, and other vehicles they see on the road and at construction sites! They’ll even get to meet the men and women who drive them! Plus, enjoy bounce houses, free giveaways (while supplies last), and bring an aluminum can to be crushed during the steamroller demonstrations. See event parking information at gepark.org/truck. (ts) Age: All. Learn important bicycle rules of the road and test your knowledge on a miniature riding course. Take part in on- the-spot bike checks, a bike decorating station, safety demonstrations, and even a few raffles! Participants must bring their own bike and wear a properly fitted helmet to participate in the riding course.
