Age: All. Enjoy live music and food, join
an eco-info session, visit with “green”
organizations to learn about a variety of
environmental initiatives. Stop and shop
with local sustainable vendors. Go on a
guided walk, purchase a rain barrel, let
the kids wander through earthy activity
stations, or rent a canoe or kayak to
paddle around Lake Ellyn. Presented by
Glen Ellyn Park District and SCARCE. (rf) Age: All. This is your child’s chance to
climb inside dump trucks, fire trucks,
police cars, and other vehicles they see
on the road and at construction sites!
They’ll even get to meet the men and
women who drive them! Plus, enjoy
bounce houses, free giveaways (while
supplies last), and bring an aluminum can
to be crushed during the steamroller
demonstrations. See event parking
information at gepark.org/truck. (ts) Age: All. Learn important bicycle rules of
the road and test your knowledge on a
miniature riding course. Take part in on-
the-spot bike checks, a bike decorating
station, safety demonstrations, and
even a few raffles! Participants must
bring their own bike and wear a properly
fitted helmet to participate in the riding
course. In partnership with the Glen
Ellyn Public Library, Police Department,
Northwestern Medicine, and The
Bike Hub. This event will run weather
permitting. (ts)
