EVENTS Earth Day Fair Sunday, April 28 • 1pm-4pm Held at Lake Ellyn Park Presented by Glen Ellyn Park District and SCARCE Join us for an afternoon in the park. Bring a picnic lunch or purchase one. Visit with local environmental groups and vendors, listen to live music, rent a canoe, go on a guided tour, or attend a mini workshop. Kids can visit educational stations and rain barrels will be available for purchase. (rf) COST: FREE • ALL AGES WELCOME RUNNING CLUB, 1978 Monday Miles RUNNING SERIES Mondays • June 3-August 8 • 6:30-8pm Held at Newton Park Age: All. Grab your running shoes and get moving! Over the course of 9 weeks we will log miles on our course at Newton Park and have some fun theme nights along the way including a fitness night (June 17), ice cream social (July 15), and a raffle run (August 5). Run or walk with us each Monday and look for additional theme nights to be announced on our website. Please note, Monday Miles will not be offered on Mon, July 1. TOTS & TRUCKS, 2004 TOUCH-A-TRUCK Saturday, May 4 • 10am-12pm Held at Maryknoll Park This is your chance to climb inside dump trucks, fire trucks, police cars, and other vehicles you see on the road and at construction sites. We’ll have giveaways until supplies last! The event will be horn free from 11:30am-12pm for those with sensitive ears or those who don’t like loud noises. (jm) COST: FREE • ALL AGES WELCOME 6 Bike Rodeo Sunday, May 5 • 12pm-2pm Held at Duane/Lorraine Parking Lot Join the Glen Ellyn Park District, Glen Ellyn Police Department, Northwestern Medicine, The Bike Hub and the Glen Ellyn Public Library for a Bike Safety Rodeo! Kids will learn important rules of the road and have a chance to test their knowledge on a miniature riding course. Participants must bring their own bike and wear a properly fitted bike helmet to participate in the riding course. There will also be on- the-spot bike checks, a bike decorating station, BMX demonstrations, and even a few raffles! This event will run weather permitting. (jm) COST: FREE • ALL AGES WELCOME
