Kindergarten Kids Camp Adventures in Paleontology – Beginner
Held at Main Street Recreation Center Held at Lake Ellyn Boathouse
Age: 5-6
This camp is designed to keep your child’s academic skill sharp over the
summer while having fun! We will journal to practice upper and lower-
case letters, spelling and sight words; and incorporate addition skills.
Children will do crafts, have free time and play outside. Please bring a
snack and beverage every day. Designed for children entering or exiting
kindergarten. Min/Max: 10/20. (jr) Age: 5-7
This is the perfect camp for the younger dinosaur lovers of the world.
Each day kids will get to examine different authentic prehistoric fossils
and dinosaur bones from numerous species including Triceratops and
T-Rex, play games and make crafts/activities. Kids love this adventure
and don’t realize they are learning too! Bring a water bottle and healthy
snack. We will be outdoors so dress accordingly. Min/Max: 8/25. (jr)

First Grade Camp
Held at Main Street Recreation Center
Age: 6-7
This program is designed to keep your child’s academic skills sharp
over the summer while having fun! We cover reading, math and writing
as recommended by first grade standards and include crafts and
outside play. A snack and beverage are required every day. Your child
will have fun and learn at the same time! This camp is designed for
children entering first grade. Min/Max: 10/20. (jr)

Adventures in Paleontology – Ultimate
Held at Lake Ellyn Boathouse
Age: 8-12
This camp is as close as you can get to a dinosaur dig without leaving
the state! Kids love this fun and adventurous “straight from the
cretaceous period” camp because of its unique, hands-on exploration
of dinosaur science and paleontology. Prepare to get dirty as we use
the tools and skills utilized at a dig site. Each day we’ll examine different
types of authentic prehistoric fossils and dinosaur bones, including
Triceratops and T-Rex. NEW for 2019 - kids will do real hands on prep
work to a dinosaur bone we brought back from our 2018 South Dakota
dig, as well as excavate and take home an authentic bone shard. We
will also play games, make crafts and more! There’s an explorer in all of
us and if you’re ready for an expedition in dinosaur discovery, this camp
is for you! Please bring a water bottle and healthy snack. We will be
outdoors so dress accordingly. Min/Max: 8/25. (jr)
