Gone Fishin ’ Derby
Age : All Come down to the watering hole and bring your favorite poles and pals for our annual catch-and-release fishing derby ! You ’ ll have an hour to catch as many fish as you can , but don ’ t forget to try and get the big one . We ’ ll award trophies for Largest Fish Caught , Smallest Fish Caught , Most Fish Caught and Best Dressed Fisherman . All children must be accompanied by an adult . Fee is per child and includes bait , snacks and activities . Fishermen must supply their own fishing poles . Pre-registration is required , NO walk-up registration . Min / Max : 25 / 50 . [ JR ]

Commissioner Meet & Greets
Age : All Hang out with your family and friends at your local park ! Enjoy free food ( available first come , first serve while supplies last ), the playground , and / or play a game of bags . Attendees can also enter a prize drawing to win a Park District gift basket filled with coupons for free rounds at Holes & Knolls Mini Golf , free Splash Park entry , free Sunset Pool entry , and day passes to Ackerman SFC ’ s fitness center , open gym / turf , and climbing wall . Sustainable Yard Tour
Age : 18 & Up Several yards will be featured on this year ’ s tour . This is a great way to see what others are doing to make outdoor areas more sustainable – everything from stormwater solutions , to growing native plants and veggies , to creating habitat and reducing turf space . Meet at 9:00am at the Maryknoll Clubhouse for a brief presentation . Maps and addresses will be distributed then and you are free to tour the yards on your own until noon . This is a free program , but registration is required . Space is limited to 75 people . [ RF ]
