If you enjoy walking in our local parks, why not learn a little seasonal
natural history and science in the process? These casual walks will be
at a leisurely pace, rain or shine. For Maryknoll Park, please meet by the
pavilion in the lower parking lot. Meet in front of the Boathouse for the
walk at Lake Ellyn Park. (rf)

Forest Therapy Walks
Held at Churchill Park
Age: 18 & Up
Connecting with nature has many proven health benefits. Join a
certified Forest Therapy Guide at Churchill Park and learn how to
immerse yourself in natural settings through mindful actions and
observations, gain insights about local ecology, and better understand
the physical and mental benefits of this growing practice. The
experience ends with a tea ceremony and reflection. Min/Max: 3/20. (rf)
Native
Tree & Shrub Sale
Looking to add a tree or shrub to your yard?
Consider a native species that requires less maintenance, is
adapted to our regional climate, and supports wildlife. The
Park District, The Conservation Foundation, and the Glen
Ellyn Environmental Commission are partnering to offer this
opportunity. Plants come in a five-gallon sized container
and should be able to fit in most standard vehicles for
transporting home.

Over 25 trees and shrubs are available to choose from
including Meadowsweet, American Hazelnut, Sycamore
and several Oak species. A list of all the species available for
purchase, plants descriptions, and the order form can be

RESTORATION WORK DAYS

Help clear invasive plants, cut and stack brush, plant native flowers,
trees and seeds, maintain trails and more. Please bring gloves if you
have them – we will supply the tools, safety glasses and extra gloves.
This is a great opportunity for scouts, families, and community groups.
