Winter House Soccer League
Junior Lakers Soccer
Grade: Pre-K to 8
We help children improve their skills and move to a higher level of
play, whether they are new to the game, or play house league or travel
league. We employ technical circuit training sessions that provide the
entire range of individual skills needed to perform under pressure and
become the nucleus of a team. We group players by age and ability
level. If weather should force a cancellation, make-ups take place at

Age: 5-15
This is a great opportunity for boys and girls to keep their soccer skills
fresh during winter. Each week, players will work on different skills
and then scrimmage at the end of class. This league is instructed by
Future Pros trainers, the same trainers used by the Glen Ellyn Lakers
travel teams. Equipment: Each player is required to bring their own ball,
shoes, shin guards, and water for each class. Instructor: Future Pros.

Lakers Soccer Academy
Grade: 1-2
Lakers Academy is a program designed to enhance your child’s
recreational soccer experience. This program is for children who love
soccer, want to play at a higher level, but are not ready to commit
to the rigors of our Glen Ellyn Park District Lakers Futbol Club.
Participation in both the Glen Ellyn Recreational league and Lakers
Academy is encouraged. Training and games will be run by our Future
Pros Travel Trainers.
Practice is once per week for 90 minutes with a focus on developing
individual soccer skills and sportsmanship. Games between the
Lakers Academy teams will be held Saturday afternoons and will be
approximately 1 hour. Games will also be played against Wheaton
Wings Academy teams. Games will be held at Ackerman Park or in
Seven Gables Park in Wheaton. Uniform kits are also required and must
be purchased separately. Please contact [email protected] once
registration is complete for uniform ordering information. Each player
is required to bring their own soccer ball, cleats, shin guards, and water

Youth Indoor Soccer League
Age: U8-U15
Youth Indoor Soccer Leagues will be offered at Ackerman Sports &
Fitness Center this winter. Youth leagues are open to both co-ed and
girls teams. All games are played on 60x40 turf with no boards, and
outdoor rules apply.
TO REGISTER: All registrations must be full teams; individual player
registrations will not be accepted. Team registrations can be completed
at the Spring Avenue Recreation Center or emailed to Brad Thomas at
[email protected] and must include a non-refundable $200 deposit.
Registration will begin on September 11 and will remain open until
leagues are full. Refer to gepark.org/youth-leagues for the registration

Supplemental Travel Soccer Tryouts
Age: U8-High School
Supplemental travel soccer tryouts will be held to add additional
players to existing Glen Ellyn Lakers and Midwest FC teams or create
new teams if numbers allow. Tryouts for Lakers Boys U8-U14, Lakers
Girls U8-U13, and Midwest FC U14 Girls will be held at Ackerman Sports
& Fitness Center on the turf. Midwest FC High School Boys will be held
outside at Ackerman Park. [BT]
