Dear Volunteers, Parents, and Families:
I am delighted to share the Program Planning and Activity Catalog to help you formulate plans that bring Scouting
to life for more than 20,000 youth throughout Oregon and Washington. The Boy Scouts of America’s mission “to
prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values in the
Scout Oath and Law” is as important today as it was more than a century ago when Scouting was founded in the
United States.
Thank you for sharing your time, talent and treasure that make Scouting possible throughout the 18 counties
served by the Cascade Pacific Council. We hope this guide serves as a useful tool and resource in your program
planning efforts. The guide highlights diverse, educational and vibrant resources available to you.

In the front of this guide you will find an alphabetical catalog of activities. They are broken down into outdoor
activities and camping, service opportunities and community events. These make up a great mixture of program
opportunities. The pages that follow will include a program planning calendar especially prepared for your unit,
resources on how to become a trained leader, opportunities to fund your unit’s adventure, and ways we can provide
service to our local communities. This guide should help you better understand the types of activities and programs
at your fingertips but also how to best plan your year.
