Activity Books Understanding Water Activity Book | Page 53
Besides the air we breathe (oxygen), water is
the most important element in the human body. An
average person can survive over a month without
eating; but less than a week without water. The human
body is 65 to 70 percent water.
The basic ingredients of everything we eat
comes from soil and water. Farmers raise crops and
livestock that change soil and water into food.
Water is an important part of food.
The water we drink and the water we use to wash
our hands is cleaned at a treatment plant before we use
it. The water used to irrigate farmland is not cleaned
first. So the cleaner we can keep the water, the better it
is for everyone!
