LIFE AS WE KNOW IT

Life As We Know It is one of the most well-known romantic comedy-drama movies of today. Set in a small neighbourhood in Atlanta, it was directed by Greg Berlanti.
The story begins when Alison and Peter try to set up Holly and Messer on a date, which ends horribly. From that point, they start to hate and can’t stand each other, but that doesn’t stop Alison and Peter from getting married. After some time married, their daughter Sophie is born, but unfortunately her parents die in a car accident. That’s when Holly and Messer take the main role: they become Sophie’s guardians.
They are forced to move to the dead couple’s house to take care of Sophie and build up a family. But that’s not as easy as it sounds because, despite a long time passing by since their date, they cannot be together without fussing or arguing.
One of the best points of the movie is how it is based on a real moving story and filmed with such great simplicity. Only watching a few minutes of the film, you can feel the chemistry between the actors.
It is also a very loyal and representative film of our society, which grips you from the very beginning to the unexpected end. Furthermore, for anyone who doesn’t like this kind of film, I’m pretty sure they’ll enjoy this because of the fact that its genre-defying and all the comedy scenes in it, which make you laugh out loud and make you have a good time while watching it.

Wonder, a dramedy (drama and comedy) film directed by Stephen Chbosky. It is a self-improvement story about a child who is born with a facial deformation and during all his childhood has had more than 27 operations. The 2018 movie, based on a book written by R.J. Palacio, follows the life of the main character, August, during his first days in Secondary School.
The most challenging facet of this film is the performance of the actors seeing as most of them are children – about 10 years old – and they have to act as professional ones. They have to portray heart-warming emotions. Maybe that is also the best part of the movie:
the viewer can put himself in other people’s shoes. In addition, it is interesting the way that the screenwriter develops the story and the differences and similarities from the original book.
Although “Wonder” is a very touching film, it develops classic topics like school bullying or the cruelty of children. It is not too different from other movies that are focused also on school bullying: that is the crux of the matter.
To conclude, “Wonder” is a tender and a charismatic movie in which the viewer is shown that bullying is a real problem that could happen to any of us. It is worth seeing!
