Following the departure of Keiron Cunningham, the Merseysiders had enjoyed an upturn in form with important victories over Castleford and Leigh. However, shipping 93 points in their last two games doesn’t inspire much confidence and Hull could end up making life difficult for Saints.
Hull have won five of the last six meetings between the two outfits including the 24-14 victory back in March.
Either side looking to take comfort
in their superior Magic Weekend record will be left disappointed. Both have won four of their ten games on this bonanza of rugby.
Who will make it five? Odds of 2/1 suggest that it will be a long trip back down to the North West for St Helens.
Hull FC go into Saturday’s second clash as favourites and rightly so if current form and previous meetings between the two clubs are anything to go by.
Lee Radford’s troops sit second in the table and find themselves enjoying a five-game winning streak including a huge 26-24 victory over table-topping Castleford and a 62-0 mauling of Catalans last time out in the Challenge Cup.
A win over struggling St Helens would put Hull top of the pile, for 24 hours at least ahead of Castleford’s clash with Leeds. Odds of 4/11 suggest that Hull should deal with the Saints threat with relative ease.

"Hull’s Albert Kelly (pictured) has been in scintillating form so far this season, picking up four man of the match awards in 12 games – registering 12 tries in the process."
