It wasn't a million years ago since these two sides were meeting regularly outside Super League, but this Sunday they take to one of the biggest stages in the sport at Magic Weekend.
It will be a first ever visit for the Leigh Centurions, while the Salford Red Devils will compete for the 10th time in the events history.
Unfortunately, it hasn't been a enjoyable weekend for the Salford fans, with just three wins in nine attempts, meaning they've picking up just six points from this famous two day festival of Super League.
However, the side owned by Dr Marwan Koukash (pictured) have only ever played the Widnes Vikings at St James Park on Magic Weekend, winning once and losing the other, so it will be something of a new battle for them to face this Sunday.
Leigh have no omens of the sort, and will travel to the North East with a bumper following. Their supporters have been waiting for these kind of weekends for some time, and will be hopeful that their side can pick up some much-needed points.
