Conditioning is when a person tries to reach their target heart rate. A normal maximum heart rate that a person can have is 220 minus that persons age. The way that a person can achieve their best aerobic conditioning level is at a heart rate that is between 60 and 80% of the number found above. Individuals should get at least a half-hour of aerobic conditioning, at least three times a week. During these aerobic exercises the individual must try to maintain their target heart rate, for maximum effectiveness. As the individual progresses in their conditioning, their body will adjust to the changes and the individual will have to exert more effort to maintain their target heart rate. Conditioning is very good because it enables people to feel stronger, healthier, and it relieves stress. Another benefit of conditioning is the fact that it helps you lose weight and keeps you more physically fit. It helps enhance one’s immune system and makes people likely to suffer from diseases and health conditions such as Type 2 diabetes, cancer, and stroke.
