Still Alice Butterfly

Film

Review

‘Still Alice Butterfly’ directed by Richard Glatzer tells the story of a woman, a wife and a mother of three children. One day the main character, Alice, realizes she suffers from a fatal disease.

The plot focuses on overcoming human weaknesses and shows how to fight with a fatal disease. It begins like many American dramas I have seen before, but, on the other hand, I could not say it is just one of them. At the beginning we get to know Alice as a respected woman who is a lecturer at university, and she derives pleasure from her job. The main problem shown in the film is daily, quiet life disturbed unexpectedly by a horrible information about the incurable disease - Alzheimer that Alice has. Julianne More playing Alice is the most touching role I have ever seen.

In my opinion, the cast is excellent. Julianne Moore and Alec Baldwin did a great job to make their roles so realistic and reliable. General comments are very positive and the film has been watched by many, sometimes more than once.

I really recommend this film to my Polish mates, but not only, because every single person deserves to experience something amazing and incredible. So do not forget to watch it, it goes without saying it is worth seeing! Especially, Julianne, who got an Oscar for The Best Leading Role, so it would be the biggest shame not to watch it!

Also if you are not afraid of crying in front of the screen, it is a perfect film for you.
