FINANCE
Preliminary general fund budget , fiscal years 24 and 25
Michelle Vargas , chief financial officer , provided School Board members with an update on preliminary budget numbers for fiscal years 2024 and 2025 . Vargas laid out different scenarios for the district based on different levels of funding support the state legislature may choose to allocate to K-12 education during the next budget biennium . Depending on legislative decisions on the basic funding formula and the special education cross subsidy aid , the district may have as much as $ 56.2 million ( 9.5 percent ) or as little as $ 20.85 million ( 3.5 percent ) in its fund balance by fiscal year 2025 , without any remedial actions . The Anoka-Hennepin School District guidelines strive to retain 10 percent of annual expenditures in its unassigned fund balance .
