Scenario C was created after hearing from community members earlier in November. Several communications were made to ensure both current families and incoming kindergarten families were made aware of this possible change, including two community forums (Nov. 6 and 20), phone calls, letters via mail, e-newsletter messages and website updates. In all cases, families were extended the opportunity to provide feedback in-person, by email or phone. Most who commented on the proposals said they wanted to minimize disruption to current students as much as possible and recommended a kindergarten center as the solution. After hearing this feedback and determining it would be a workable solution, Holden and Wolverton recommended the School Board choose the kindergarten center at Wilson Elementary. This is the closest location of the three kindergarten center scenarios and would eliminate the need for additional administrative staff and other overhead costs. An addition will be built at Wilson Elementary to provide space for extra classrooms in this scenario. Clerk Jeff Simon commended the team for working so closely with the community through this process. An official decision will by made by the School Board at the Dec. 8 regular meeting. School Board Chair Tom Heidemann said feedback from the community is still welcome between now and then. More information can be found by clicking the boundary info icon toward the bottom of Ramsey Elementary and Wilson Elementary homepages. Two parents addressed the board regarding this topic. Both favored the kindergarten center proposal. Associate Superintendent Dr. Jinger Gustafson said the two recommendations emerged from broad recommendations the community task force made in 2013, which were refined in 2014. Community member Judi Orland described task force involvement in developing a comprehensive communication plan to meet recommendation four. The plan received consensus of the task force and was reviewed and supported by the Anti-Bullying/Anti-Harassment Leadership Team. She shared the statement of need for the plan and its general goals of providing information to all audiences on
