include the addition of five full-time equivalent teachers (FTE) supported through enrollment growth, operating funds to open new elementary schools funded through referendum sources, and maintenance of existing instructional staffing ratios. District general fund balance will remain at 10.2%, providing organizational stability for 2019-20, and allowing the district to coordinate a process and incorporate public feedback for planned expenditure reductions for the following school year. Vargas also presented projected expenditures and revenues in five other district funds including the food service fund, community service fund, capital projects fund, debt service fund, and trust fund. The budget will be amended as necessary to account for variables such as enrollment, funding formulas, School Board direction and various other factors at key points during the school year.
