Johnsville construction update presented

Chuck Holden, chief operations officer, and Dr. Mary Wolverton, associate superintendent
for elementary schools, presented an update to the board on the bid rescision for the addition on Johnsville Elementary School.
At the last regular meeting, the board awarded the bid to Jorgenson Construction. But
another construction company challenged the bid, citing a new Minnesota state statute requiring contractors to get sworn statements for the work from their subcontractors, which
wasn’t done by Jorgenson, Holden said.
As a result, district legal counsel recommended the district re-bid the project. The bid was
reopened March 12 and will wrap up March 27, Holden said.
