Enrollment projections
Dr. Joel VerDuin, chief technology and information officer, presented a detailed report on
student enrollment projected through the 2020-21 school year. He reviewed sets of data that
impact projections including birth rates, new housing starts, and census data to arrive at
projection numbers.
Anoka-Hennepin is projected to enroll 36,719 students in the 2016-17 school year, or 155 additional students. The projection is considered conservative in nature. The board requested
additional data to increase reliability in long-term planning decisions.
Project Lead the Way strategic investments
Michelle Vargas, chief financial officer, presented a plan to finance computer technology
necessary to operate strategic investments in Project Lead the Way programs at the high
school and middle school levels through 2021. With the approval of the investment strategy, the School Board authorized the use of the available fund balance to ensure students
may maximize the use of technology to support learning in these science, engineering,
technology and math-related courses.
2015-16 Indian Education parent committee resolution and bylaws
The School Board accepted the resolution and bylaws for Indian Education that were developed with input from the advisory committee on a 6-0 vote.
