The family and consumer science teachers involved are now asking for a formal review of newly improved classroom materials that were created as a result of the collaboration. Students, parents/guardians and teachers will all have a chance to review the proposed materials now through spring. The findings from the feedback will be shared with the School Board in May. Delaney hopes the materials will be used in classrooms next fall and plans to begin professional development in August if they’re approved. The briefing notes and evaluation criteria can be seen in their entirety on the Jan. 26 School Board meeting agenda. Board approves addition of questions to survey The School Board approved the addition of two questions to the Parent Attitude and Satisfaction Survey (PASS) beginning this spring. Survey participants will be asked if they agree or disagree with the following statements: • I feel respected at my student’s school. • I feel my family is accepted at my student’s school. If participants do not agree with the statements, they will be asked what their children’s school could do to make them feel more respected or accepted.
